“EXCELLENT”

My wife and I have been staying at The Lypiatt for some years as we have family in the area. As there are two young children we decided to stay in The Lypiatt so we did not make extra work for the kids. I was a bit apprehensive trying to book this time as I knew there was likely to have been a change of management. My concerns were in no way founded and from the time I called to book till the time we left the care and attention to our stay way excellent. Jeff took great care of us and his breakfast skills were up to the very high standard set by the previous management. Our room, Montpelier, which we like was very clean and the beds very comfortable and welcoming. The temporary lack of an alcohol licence did not concern us a bit and Jeff is putting this to rights. The situation in the town is great as it is very central and there are so many excellent eating places of all types locally for an evening meal. We had an enjoyable and comfortable stay as always and will be back again before long.

“SUPERB”

Lypiatt House is located only 6-10 minutes walk from the centre of Cheltenham with good parking onsite. The property is in a quiet area, classical design with guest sitting room and garden room, honesty bar. Bedroom was spotless with en suite, and tea and coffee making facilities. Superb white bed linen and fluffy white towels.Comfortable bed. Room we had was in eaves so the senior partner did some head bumping -but most of time in the room was in bed so it mattered little. Every staff member very helpful, BUT the surprise was breakfast. Dining tables with perfect linen tablecloths and napkins fresh fruit each day such as blueberries, raspberries and strawberries along with other fresh breakfast fruit and cereal then an excellent cooked breakfast.. Very good price too. We would use again well done to everyone who manages this B&B. ( We had friends staying at the Queens Hotel who seemed to pay considerably more for the quality we enjoyed at Lypiatt House. )

“EXCELLENT”

We stayed at this hotel on a Sunday night, following a friend's recommendation. Easy to find, and safe parking (always a necessity with our cars). Lovely old converted Georgian house; we had been staying away the previous night, so had opted for one of the cheaper (smaller) bedrooms - this was at the top of the house, but perfectly clean and adequate. Reception was welcoming, and we were shown the comfortable lounge and conservatory with honesty bar. Once given your key, you were left to your own devices coming in and out of the hotel. Center of Montpelier with lots of bars/restaurants within a couple of minutes' walk. We had the lounge to ourselves when we returned after a meal, and were perfectly content to have a drink from the bar and read the Sunday papers before bed. Breakfast was very good - the fresh fruit was impressive too! Would certainly go here again.
